COLLINS MESSAGE TO WOLVES: DON’T PANIC!

-

NATHAN COLLINS says Wolves must play their way out of trouble – if they are to thrive under new boss Julen Lopetegui.

Wanderers were left propping up the Premier League after their ninth defeat of the season at home to Arsenal under caretaker Steve Davis.

Spaniard Lopetegui (above) has a big job on his hands as he starts work today.

Irish defender Collins, 21, was part of Burnley’s squad who went down last term and is now using that experience.

“I’ve been there before and seen what can happen, and how much it can change at the bottom,” said Collins.

“I am just using my experience and telling the team it is nothing to worry about, as there are 23 games to go. That is the main thing.

“I have to use my experience to pass that message on.

“We have to fight and I know as a team we can do it with our ability. We have to buy into the manager and let him do his work.

“I don’t think we have to make it a scrap. We have to play our way with the new gaffer coming in and that is what will happen.

“He didn’t take this job off nothing, he knows how good the squad is and knows the ability here.

“That is the main thing and, once we buy into him, we will be sound.”
