Fury: Fish fingers, chips and beans are knockout
Boxer’s pre-fight meal
TYSON Fury has revealed the secret of his success, a pre-fight meal of fish fingers, chips and beans.
And the dad of six said yesterday he even orders the children’s favourite when eating in posh restaurants.
The undefeated heavyweight world champ, who has battled weight problems, said: “My three non-negotiable behaviours, or three things that make me high performance is fish fingers, chips and beans.
“It’s my death row meal. I have it before every fight. It’s my favourite meal in the world.
“I was in a big fancy restaurant in New York, and everyone was having lobsters and all this fancy truffle and whatever else, all these fancy fish things that I can’t even name.
“And I don’t even like any of this like seafood and all that. The waitress said ‘Well what can our chef make? Anything you want.’
“I said ‘Tell you what I’ll have fish fingers, chips and beans.’ And she said, ‘Beans? Like green beans?’ I’m like, ‘No, like breakfast beans.’ And she said ‘What is this?’
“So I got a picture up and she’s like, ‘Oh, like barbecue beans.’ And I’m like ‘Yep, that’s what I want.’”
Self-styled Gypsy King Fury was speaking on the High Performance podcast. The 34-year-old, preparing for an all-british clash with Derek Chisora on December 3 in London, usually tips the scales at 18st.
But he ballooned to 28st as he battled depression in 2015.
Fury blamed a diet of “class-a drugs, junk food and alcohol” for the gain.
