PM defends Raab on bully claims
RISHI Sunak insisted he will stand by Dominic Raab over staff bullying claims.
The PM defended his deputy as he rejected calls for him to face investigation or the axe after civil servants’ complaints.
Last week the Mirror revealed Mr Raab has been nicknamed “The Incinerator” as he “burns through” staff so quickly.
The claims have raised fresh questions about Mr Sunak’s judgment just days after
Gavin Williamson quit the Cabinet following allegations he had bullied staff.
The PM said: “I don’t recognise that characterisation of Dominic and I’m not aware of formal complaints about him.”
It was revealed yesterday 40% of staff in Mr Raab’s office when he was Foreign Secretary said they had suffered bullying.
But Mr Sunak said: “These surveys are annual and relate to the overall work environment, not to individuals.”
