Bezos vows: I’ll give away my £105bn
JEFF Bezos has become the latest billionaire to pledge to give away the majority of their wealth during their lifetime.
The Amazon founder, 58, is worth an estimated £105.7billion. He did not specify how or to whom he will give away the cash.
He said: “The hard part is figuring out how to do it in a levered way.
“It’s not easy. Building Amazon was not easy. It took hard work and smart teammates. And philanthropy is very similar.”
Mr Bezos handed £85.1m to singer Dolly Parton, whose philanthropic work helped create Moderna’s Covid vaccine.
He was previously criticised for not signing the Giving Pledge, set up by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett.
