Don’t let coloured noise hurt your hearing
Sounds under 85 db (decibels) – the noise of heavy traffic – are safe for up to eight hours a day, says hearing loss charity RNID. But exposure to 110-120 db, even for a short time, can cause hearing damage.
“If you’re prone to ringing in your ears, don’t go above 70 decibels,” cautions
Mike Dilkes.
