How to prepare for autumn/winter

-

With the weather getting colder and daylight hours shorter there is a tendency to cocoon ourselves in a blanket with a hot drink. But there are some other things you could do to have a healthy and happy autumn and winter.

„ Get your flu and Covid vaccines It’s this time of the year that flu viruses attack, so contact your GP or your pharmacy for your flu shot. If you’re eligible, get your Covid booster too.

„ Prepare for SAD If you suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder) get prepared with light therapy which can help you sleep better and fight depression.

„ Moisturise In cold weather our skin becomes drier so make sure you moisturise frequently. You might notice you need to use a thicker one during the winter months.

„ Keep moving There’s a lot to do in a garden in the autumn: raking the leaves, deadheading, mulching, and the list goes on. Any type of gardening is great exercise! If you don’t have a garden you could declutter your house.
