HRT prescriptions have risen 35% in a year

I believe every woman, if she can take oestrogen, has the right to a four month trial of HRT for menopausal symptoms, so I was happy to see the publicity recently when supplies ran out.

However, last year saw a 35% increase in prescriptions for HRT prescribed in England. Some 7.8 million items were prescribed in 2021-22, up from 5.78 million in 2020-21, while an estimated 1.93 million patients had HRT prescribed, up 30% from 2020-21.

The statistics were released to help tackle supply-chain shortages and taboos associated with HRT.
