Name that JINGLE

It may surprise you to learn that the honeyed West Country drawl of the sexy rabbit in the popular 1980 Cadbury’s Caramel advert campaign was voiced by none other than Miriam Margolyes.

Well, it surprised me anyway, as the now 81-year-old potty-mouthed scourge of politicians has become better known for her blunt way with words.

“Hey Mr Beaver,” cooed the actress, interrupting a busy beaver from toppling a tree with her smooth, seductive voice… and instantly becoming a national pin-up.

She then got a sexy makeover when Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel brought her back in 2009 with its Still Got It campaign.

And like just about everyone in the Noughties, the rabbit became a bunny girl and had plastic surgery to give her extra curves and got dolled up in slap.

I expect they’ll drag the 42-year-old bunny back at some point. No doubt with a face lift and an unsuitable toy boy on her arm…
