MATTY CASH reckons Unai Emery has already transformed Aston Villa after just two weeks in charge.

Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Brighton made it two league wins out of two for the Spaniard, 51, since he replaced Steven Gerrard a fortnight ago.

The previous week – in his debut game in charge – Emery led Villa to a first home win over Manchester United in the league since 1995.

And the Birmingham side now head into the World Cup break in 12th and five points clear of trouble.

Right-back Cash (above) said: “It’s fantastic. One win at home and one away, against two really good sides.

“It’s a building block. In this league, if you want to climb the table you need to be really hard to beat.

“We’re delighted we’ve picked up three points going into the break.”
