Tesco Xmas shoppers’ anger over early birds’ website fail

- BY LEVI WINCHESTER

SHOPPERS were furious yesterday after waiting online for hours to book their Tesco’s Christmas delivery slots, only for the website to crash.

At least 300,000 people tried to grab the early bird Delivery Saver slots when they were released at 6am.

One frustrated shopper revealed: “I was in the queue since 5.30am and got down from 42,000 to the front. Then the website crashed and put me back to place number 225,000.”

Another complained they were at number 291,352.

A third customer said they waited for two hours to make their booking and then the site crashed. A Tesco spokesman apologised and said the issue was resolved by noon.

The slots for regular customers open on November 22.
