He’ll just Harri on as usual

-

PADRAIG HARRINGTON has capped off a memorable first full season on the PGA Champions Tour in record-breaking style.

His fourth win of the year proves what a fine player he still is.

His longevity is remarkable. He earned his first professional win in 1996, at Club De Campo in Madrid - 26 years later he is still winning.

Knowing Harrington as I do, he will have his sights on Bernard Langer’s record.

Langer has won 44 times, which is quite ridiculous really. He is still at it at the age of 65.

Harrington is quoted as saying that he would love to play as long as he can.

The big factor is fitness and good health.

Langer has never had a struggle with injuries and has lived a very clean and healthy life.

Harrington is similar in this regard.

He has never sat still in his career. He is always working tirelessly to improve. He will continue to search and maintain his love for the game. That’s his greatest attribute. He just loves it.

The key difference now is that he is at a level where this is being rewarded.

The winning feeling is so powerful that it erases everything else.

As Tiger Woods says, winning takes care of everything.

It is also great for Irish golf to see him doing so well and he remains an inspiration to others.
