EDWARDS TO DON HIS LUTON HAT
LUTON TOWN were last night poised to appoint Rob Edwards as new boss less than two months after he was sacked by big rivals Watford.
The Hatters have been hunting a new manager since Nathan Jones quit for Southampton last week.
And they believe the much-admired Edwards, 39, is the ideal choice with an appointment expected as early as today. The former Wolves defender (left), who led Forest Green to the League Two title last term, was harshly axed by Watford after just 11 games in charge.
He may struggle to win over the Luton fans however thanks to his association with their rivals.
CEO Gary Sweet said: “The biggest characteristic the new man is going to have is he’s going to have the right personality for this football club.”
