Whisky galore for Bale

-

WALES fans hoping to buy the white away strip with green and red trim will have to wait until December 16 – two days before the World Cup final.

Official suppliers JD Sports say demand for replica shirts to match the kits of hero players Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey has outstripped supply.

A spokesman said: “We have seen exceptionally strong demand for the Football Association of Wales kit as fans prepare for the World Cup.”

TEETOTAL Gareth Bale has become part-owner of a whisky distillery and hopes fans will raise a glass of it during the World Cup.

The Welsh captain has become a shareholder of Penderyn Distillery, adding to his bar in Cardiff and golf-themed nightspots. Bale, 33, said: “Penderyn single-handedly revived whisky production in Wales and have become an international success story.

“It’s hugely satisfying to be able to play my part in their continued success.”
