Truckers’ loo shortage hell

LORRY drivers are falling ill because of a “shameful” lack of toilets during work.

Three out of four said they had urgently needed to use a loo in the past year but none was available while driving on UK roads.

Two in five said access had fallen since Covid.

In Unite’s survey of 1,700 truckers, one in 10 added a lack of access had led to a medical condition.

General secretary Sharon Graham said: “No worker should be denied access to a clean toilet.”
