Leeds legend Billy marked in exhibition
THE life of football legend Billy Bremner is celebrated in a new online exhibition.
It includes anecdotes from former school friends, neighbours and team-mates, as well as photos and match reports.
Bremner was born in 1942 in an area of Stirling, Scotland, known as the Raploch. He signed for Leeds aged 17 in 1959 and later became captain.
The tough midfielder had more than 50 caps for his national team.
Researchers at Stirling University unearthed swathes of information on Bremner’s early days.
One, Professor Richard Haynes, said: “We were overwhelmed with the amount of material we collected for this project.”
