‘Get Lebedev out of Lords’

AN absentee peer chosen by Boris Johnson should be kicked out of the Lords, Parliament heard.

Lord Lebedev, media mogul and son of a former KGB agent, has spoken once in the chamber since being made a peer in 2020.

His peerage was allegedly seen as a security risk.

Labour’s Lord Foulkes called for peers such as Lebedev who fail to show up “regularly” to have their peerage revoked.

He said it would “reduce the size of this House”.
