This show was never expected to be more than a comedy spin-off to the Paralympic Games in 2012, and yet here we are as it returns with a stuffed award cabinet and a 26th series.
Its success, apart from obviously being a “spit-your-tea-out” funny take on the week’s news, is down to the fact that Adam Hills, Alex Brooker and Josh Widdicombe are three thoroughly likeable chaps and none of them seem to care what they say and to whom. No subject is off limits and Hills is prone to having a rant at any moment during the live broadcast about a person or organisation that generally deserves abuse – and we all know there are plenty of those.
The first guests on this latest series are former footballer Peter Crouch, TV presenter AJ Odudu and last year’s Strictly champ Rose Ayling-ellis, who will help them examine the biggest stories of the last few days.
