Del’s ‘Peckham Spring’ mineral water prop goes up for auction
THIS could have been the source of a nice little earner for Del Boy…
An original bottle of “Peckham Spring” water from a classic episode of Only Fools and Horses is expected to sell for £8,000. And it is even signed by David Jason. The prop featured in the LIQUID GOLD The water bottle 1992 Christmas special Mother Nature’s Son, where Del Boy started bottling up tap water and selling it as a mineral drink “from an ancient and natural source” in Peckham, South London. It is going under the hammer at East Bristol Auctions on December 2, in the city where the sitcom was filmed. Auctioneer Andrew Stowe said: “It’s an incredible piece of television history.”
Around 200 bottles of Peckham Spring were made.
A few lucky audience members received one as a gift after filming ended. This is the only one believed to be signed by Jason.
So it’s definitely pukka…
