SKI Sunday’s Chemmy Alcott and Graham Bell have received a frosty reception from BBC bosses for plugging their clothing range on air.

The pair are both brand ambassadors for Snow Finel and have products with the skiwear firm.

They were repeatedly spotted wearing the distinctive range on Ski Sunday and the BBC’S Winter Olympics coverage.

The broadcaster’s editorial guidelines say presenters

“must not appear on-air wearing clothing or using products or services which they have agreed/been contracted to promote, advertise or endorse or in which they have a specific financial interest”.

Third parties are also not allowed to cash in on the BBC. But Snow Finel boasts on social media how both stars regularly wear its clothing on shows.

One post said: “Who would have thought I could create a brand that appears on BBC Ski Sunday? I am so privileged to have @chemmyski.”

Another added: “You can wear our jumpers on the slopes and back at home… have you seen how many Graham has worn for the BBC Winter Olympic 2022 coverage?” One post features Chemmy holding a BBC mic while wearing a Snow Finel hat.

The BBC said: “Chemmy and Graham wore a wide range of clothing while filming for the Winter Olympics and Ski Sunday. The brand in question used stills from our programming without our permission, we have been in touch.

“Both Chemmy and Graham supplied their own wardrobe for the show and have been reminded of the BBC’S guidelines in relation to commercial conflicts of interest.”
