The PM’S family left Downing Street in his last months as Chancellor to allow his oldest child Krishna, 11, to walk to school, although in the end this did not happen.

The PM, revealing his horror at the shooting of nine-year-old Olivia Prattkorbel, in her Liverpool home, added: “So many women and girls have not felt as safe as they should. I want to make sure my kids and everyone else can walk around safely.”

Mr Sunak said he wants to “charge more people and reduce crime and have them in jail”.
