Man held as two kids die in flats blaze
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after two children died in a flat fire yesterday.
The girls, aged three and one, passed away in hospital and a woman remains critically injured.
They had been treated for smoke inhalation.
The man, 31, is also being held on suspicion of attempted murder.
A fire and police probe found the fire, which was put out at 4am yesterday, was started deliberately.
The blaze broke out in the first-floor flat of a two-storey property in Clifton, Nottingham.
DCI Greg Mcgill appealed for witnesses.
He added: “These are tragic and very sad circumstances and my thoughts are with the family of those involved.”
