Tyler axed after ‘life-changing’ stint on Strictly
DJ Tyler West told how Strictly changed his life as he bowed out of the competition last night.
The Kiss FM star, 26, wearing an afro wig, was eliminated after facing Molly Rainford, 21, in the dance-off.
Tyler was cheered on by his mother Debs in Blackpool as the BBC series returned to the Tower Ballroom for the first time since 2019 due to Covid.
He said: “It’s my mum’s favourite show, I brought her to Blackpool, my nan, bless her, was watching over me on this journey. But, more importantly, this show has changed my life in the sense it’s given me confidence, a new-found family.”
Tyler, partnered with
Dianne Buswell, scored 35 points on Saturday while
Fleur East got a perfect 40.
Only judge Craig Revel
Horwood praised his second salsa to a KC and The Sunshine Band megamix but he still saved Molly.
The singer and Carlos Gu, 28, jived again to Bandstand Boogie by Barry Manilow.
Head judge Shirley Ballas said it was one of “the most difficult dance-offs that we’ve ever had to choose”.
Tyler avoided last week’s eliminator as former footballer Tony Adams had to withdraw with an injury.
Praising Dianne, 33, he said: “I have been blessed with the best.”
