WHAT’S THIS PROCEDURE Septoplasty

-

This is the operation that repairs a broken nose. It straightens the bone and cartilage, the septum, between your two nostrils.

When the septum is crooked or displaced, it’s known as a deviated septum, making it harder to breathe through your nose.

It may also increase the risk of developing a sinus infection because your sinuses cannot drain freely.

A surgeon aims to reposition your nasal septum to the middle of your nose by cutting and removing parts of the septum then reinserting them in the proper place.

Once a septoplasty is healed, you’ll find it’s easier to breathe.
