AND I KANE BE THE GOAL HERO AGAIN

- FROM

ANDY DUNN in Doha HARRY KANE believes he is in the sort of form that can lead England to World Cup glory.

And in a rousing call to arms ahead of the Group B opener against Iran at the Khalifa International Stadium today, Kane (above) said he is determined to seize the moment in Qatar.

The England skipper, 29, said: “In life in general, you have to take opportunities that come your way.

“I look back through my career and I had a great opportunity when I was 21 to grab the starting shirt at Tottenham Hotspur and work my way up through the team and this is just another step in that direction.

“In four years who knows where I will be? It is about now. I am in good form and that is what I am most excited about. Of course it is going to be really hard and a big challenge but I am ready for that challenge.”

After England reached the last four of Russia 2018, Kane walked away with the Golden Boot and it will be in his sights again. He said: “It would be a great thing to achieve.

“I was able to do it in 2018 and it helped the team to get to a semi-final.”
