STEPHEN KENNY tried to take the positives from last night’s win in Malta – but conceded it was far from a classic performance by Ireland. Callum Robinson (above) pounced on a dreadful mistake by Matthew Guillaumier on 55 minutes to score the only goal in a dull friendly, while sub Callum O’dowda struck the post in injury time. Irish fans showed their frustrations when they greeted the half-time whistle with loud boos.

Kenny didn’t shy away from giving an honest assessment, saying: “There is no doubt that the
