Jonnie told Hello! magazine last week he was given six months to live two years ago.

Scarlette said: “I had heard but I didn’t realise it was terminal, which makes it sound imminent.” She said it was horrifying news as Jonnie, 49, has three young children. He has lung cancer which spread to his brain.

Of her screen test for the show, she said: “He knew everything, you know, you never question Jonnie... he’s an amazing person.”

CHARLENE

White says she was hurt by abusive social media messages on leaving I’m A Celeb.

The ITV newsreader and Loose Women star, below, was branded bossy by some fans. Others made unflattering comments when she said she feared she could lose her job if she did not stay impartial when Matt Hancock entered the show. Charlene said: “It hurt. It was a lot to come out and be faced with and it caught a few wobbles on the first day out but I’m doing better than then. And I’ll get better as days go on.” She added: “I had a wonderful time in that jungle.”
