- BY MARTIN FRICKER

TWO teenagers have been killed after a sports car ploughed into a crowd at a “cruising” event.

Police said a 16-year-old girl and 19-year-old man died at the scene of the horror on Sunday. A man and woman, both in their 20s, are fighting for their life after also being hit by the Nissan Skyline.

The vehicle, which has a top speed of 165mph, slammed into a brick wall after hitting the pedestrians. A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Around 200 people had gathered at the roadside to watch the sports cars in Oldbury, West Mids.

One onlooker said: “The driver went down the road and lost control and went into a load of people. It was horrific.”

Locals said the area is notorious for “cruising”, where drivers show off powerful vehicles. Det Sgt Paul Hughes said: “Our thoughts remain with all the families affected.”
