MY AMAZING PHOTOGRAPH
Queen of autumnal photography, Glynis Pierson, is back with another breathtaking shot – one of the engineering feats of the Middle Ages, Ely Cathedral.
The 62-year-old, who lives in Littleport, Cambridgeshire, explains: “I went a few miles away to get this shot of the sun going down on the impressive Ely Cathedral.
“It’s known as the ship of the Fens because it stands out against the flat Cambridgeshire fenland and can be seen from miles around.”
In the middle of the cathedral, you can clearly see the outline of its unique
14th-century octagonal lantern tower.
Glynis adds; “The cathedral is reflected in the nature reserve, Roswell
Pits, about a mile away and is popular with walkers, fishermen and local photographers like myself.”
