Abuse shame ex-peer sues No10 from jail
A SHAMED former peer who quit before he could be expelled over sexual misconduct complaints is suing the Government.
Ex-labour Lord Nazir Ahmed has launched a case in the European Court of Human Rights from his prison cell.
Ahmed, 65, was jailed for five-and-a-half years in February for abusing two children in the 1970s.
But he moaned a Lords Committee’s decision to expel him had “devastating consequences for his private and family life”.
Ahmed resigned in 2020 after a report found on the balance of probabilities he sexually assaulted a vulnerable woman.
He claims the probe was unfair. The Government was asked to respond to the complaint.
