British firms tendered for the contract, yet a Spanish company got it with the possibility some of the work may be subcontracted to our companies (Mirror, Nov 17).

Has he forgotten we are in a recession and need all the work we can get?

What a smack in the teeth for British industry. But what can you expect from a government that has spent 12 years running the country into the ground by any and every means possible? I’ve never voted Tory and this just amplifies the reason why.
