Israeli bus stop blasts kill 1, hurt 18

TWO massive explosions hit bus stops in Jerusalem yesterday, killing one person and injuring 18.

The victim was identified as Canadian Israeli Aryeh Schupak, 15, who was heading to a seminary.

Tensions between Israelis and Palestinians have been surging for months amid nightly Israeli raids in the occupied West Bank.

Outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid said of the attackers: “We will punish them to the fullest extent of the law.”

It happened as Benjamin Netanyahu is likely to return to power as head of what may be Israel’s most right-wing government.
