Chancellor’s non-dom call
JEREMY Hunt told MPS he has ordered officials to examine how much could be raised by closing the non-dom tax loophole.
The controversial status allows wealthy UK residents to avoid paying tax on their overseas income.
But the Chancellor disputed claims getting rid of it could raise £3billion a year. He said he would rather the rich “stayed and spent their money here”.
He said: “I want to make sure we don’t do anything that loses us money.”
