My beautiful wife and girls ...taken in this cruel crime
Husband’s loss after blaze
Fatoumatta was a very happy woman who wouldn’t have the heart to hurt a fly
A HEARTBROKEN husband paid tribute to his wife and two young daughters yesterday after they were killed in a fire police say was started deliberately.
Mother Fatoumatta Hydara, 28, died two days after her daughters Fatimah Drammeh, three, and one-year-old Naeemah Drammeh.
They were rescued from their first-floor flat in Clifton, Nottingham, by firefighters in the early hours of Sunday.
Tragic sisters Fatimah and Naeemah died in hospital from smoke inhalation just a few hours later.
Their dad Aboubacarr Drammeh, 40, who lives in the US, flew back home after learning of the tragedy.
He was at his wife Fatoumatta’s bedside when her life-support machine was switched off on Tuesday.
In a moving tribute yesterday, he said he will “deeply miss” his family. He added it was “inconceivable to think who might have committed this cruel crime”.
“Fatoumatta had lived a short but a very beautiful and fulfilling life,” Mr Drammeh added.
“A former voluntary worker, Fatoumatta was a very happy, bubbly woman who wouldn’t have the heart to hurt a fly.
“It is therefore inconceivable to think who might have committed this cruel crime against my family.
“I and my in-laws are left without any daughters, grandchildren and nieces. I will deeply miss my family.” Nottinghamshire Police said that the blaze was started deliberately. Last night they continued to question a 31-year-old local man on suspicion of murder.
