MY AMAZING ARTWORK

Since leaving the tropical paradise island of Mauritius to come to Birmingham and study nursing,

Lats Teelokee has been missing her family.

Now living in

Bristol, she says: “I was born in Mauritius and moved to Birmingham when I was 19 to become a nurse.

“I used to be able to go back to Mauritius to see my family, but now I’m unable to afford the trip.

“My father has since passed away but I did this watercolour of him to remind me of home.”
