RYDER’S IN FOR SHOT AT CANELO

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

JOHN RYDER will leave everything in the ring against Zach Parker because he knows it could be his last world title chance.

Ryder faces Parker for the vacant interim WBO super-middleweight crown at The O2 on Saturday and the winner will be in line for a crack at the belt currently held by undisputed champ Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

The Islington fighter (above) lost by a unanimous points decision when he challenged Callum Smith for the WBA Super title three years ago.

At 34, Ryder knows he may not get another opportunity and said: ”It’s an interim strap and it’s important to win this regardless of what Canelo does because you could still have good fights with this title.”
