PEP’S NEW DEAL IS GREAT FOR MAN CITY AND PREM

KYLE WALKER believes Pep Guardiola’s new contract is “great for the Premier League”.

Manchester City boss Guardiola (right, with Phil Foden and Walker) has signed a new two-year extension and is determined to extend his record of success.

Walker said: “What a man, what a manager first and foremost.

“But his results back that up and for him to get the contract I think he shows faith in the club and the club show faith in him, in the direction the club’s moving.

“And hopefully we can go onto new strides and new steps in the ladder to achieve what we want to achieve in club football.

“It’s great. I think it’s great for the Premier League to have a manager like that.

“It’s great for Manchester City because he knows the players, we know the staff. It’s not a lot of chopping and changing.

“In certain clubs that’s happened and then you’re pressing the reset button again and you’re like ‘OK, well, new manager – does my face fit?’.

“So, it’s great what he’s building at Manchester City and hopefully we can keep going.”
