Angry nurses fix dates for walkout
NURSES angry at Health Secretary Steve Barclay’s refusal to even discus pay will strike on December 15 and 20.
The Royal College of Nursing chief Pat Cullen, right, says members have had “enough of being taken for granted”.
The union offered talks with Mr Barclay but he ruled out negotiations on pay.
Thousands of non-urgent ops and appointments are likely to be cancelled but emergency care will continue.
Around 70,000 members of the University and College Union have begun a two-day walkout over pay and conditions. Meanwhile, nearly every school on Scotland was closed as teachers in the EIS union walked out.
