‘Club gunman’s’ porn star dad: I’m glad he’s not gay
Appalling reply when told of 5 killings
THE father of a man suspected of shooting dead five people at a gay nightclub has said he was relieved to hear his son is not homosexual.
Ex-porn star Aaron Brink made the appalling confession after being told his 22-year-old son had been arrested.
Brink, 48, who has also worked as a cage-fighter, said he received a call from the attorney representing Anderson Lee Aldrich.
The lawyer said his son, who identifies as nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, was being held after allegedly killing five and injuring 17 in a gun spree in Colorado, US.
Brink said: “They started telling me about the incident. And then I go on to find out it’s a gay bar. I said ‘God, is he gay?’ I got scared. ‘S**t, is he gay?’ And he’s not gay, so I said ‘Phheeewww’.”
Brink claimed being gay was not compatible with his religion, adding: “I am a Mormon, I am a conservative
Republican and we don’t do gay. My opinion about gays is it’s not OK. We should stand up against homosexuality.”
The Mormon Church confirmed Aldrich was a member but said he had not been active in some time.
Court documents claim Anderson changed his name from Nicholas Franklin Brink in 2016 to escape his father’s past. Brink, who made porn films under the name Dick Delaware, and has drug-smuggling convictions, apologised to the victims of Saturday’s violence at Club Q.
He said: “I’m sorry for your loss. Life is so fragile and it’s valuable. Those people’s lives were valuable. You know, they’re valuable. They’re good people, probably. It’s not something you kill somebody over. I’m sorry I let my son down.”
Daniel Aston, Derrick Rump, Kelly Loving, Raymond Green Vance and Ashley Paugh died in Saturday’s rampage.
