Truss painted over Boris’s golden paper
LIZ Truss has painted over Boris Johnson’s £840-a-roll gold wallpaper and now it’s peeling off the walls of the Downing Street flat.
The revelation was made by Jeremy Hunt, who inspected the ex-pm’s pad before moving in.
He told the Spectator’s Parliamentarian of the Year awards: “The massive disappointment was to find the paper had started to peel and had been painted over by Liz Truss.
“So I will be saying to my children ‘Scratch there, there’s gold in the walls’.”
Johnson came under fire for trying to get Tory donor Lord Brownlow to fund wife Carrie’s £112,000 revamp of the No11 flat which he was eventually forced to pay for himself.
