Judge dismisses accused’s ‘deliberately false account’

A JUDGE yesterday demolished an ex-soldier’s “deliberately false account” of a 1988 shooting and convicted him of manslaughter.

David Holden’s claim he had wet hands when he fired on Aidan Mcanespie was “unconvincing”.

Mr Mcanespie’s family said they’d “been waiting for this for 34 years”. But veterans campaigners labelled the court process a “witch hunt”.
