Queen ‘took comfort in Line of Duty’
THE Queen took comfort after her husband Prince Philip’s death by watching hit police drama Line of Duty, according to a book.
Gyles Brandreth, a friend of the late Duke of Edinburgh, makes the claim in an upcoming biography called Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait.
He said the show helped to “keep her spirits up” after Philip died aged 99 in April last year.
But the book says she occasionally struggled to keep up with the plot twists and did not like the “mumbling” on TV shows.
Brandreth, 74, also claims the Queen was battling bone marrow cancer.
The Queen died aged 96 in September with the official cause listed as old age.
Buckingham Palace was contacted for comment.
