Linda Nolan: Pet dog helped with agony of losing hubby

- BY LYDIA VELJANOVSKI GRIEFSTRICKEN Linda Nolan

SINGER Linda Nolan has revealed how her pet dog helped her through the grief of losing her husband of 26 years.

Bichon frise Hudson would lie next to her on the bed after Brian Hudson died of skin cancer in 2007.

Linda, 63, said: “Hudson would wake me up, licking tears off my face, where I’d been crying in my sleep. If I didn’t get up until 4pm, he’d wait on the bed, he wouldn’t want to go out.” Linda, who has incurable breast cancer, said she felt suicidal after Brian died: “It was a better life with him here. But I’m so glad I stuck with it.”

Speaking to sister Coleen, 57, on new Reach podcast Let’s Talk About Grief, she added: “When Hudson died in 2015, it was the last little piece of Brian dying. It was like I’d lost everything now.” Listen at https://apple. co/3v7zprd
