Taskforce to take on NHS big 4

THE Covid vaccine rollout will inspire a blueprint to tackle four key missions in the NHS, Rishi Sunak will say today.

THE PM has announced £113m funding to target services for cancer, obesity, mental health and addiction.

Dame Kate Bingham, who led the jab taskforce, will be one of the experts heading up the four areas.

The money will fund technologies and medicines of the future to tackle the public health challenges

Mr Sunak will say: “It is hugely welcome that the highly successful vaccine taskforce... will now become a blueprint for how we harness the best talent and expertise from around the world.”

The PM, Health Secretary Steve Barclay and Business Secretary Grant Shapps are today set to meet NHS leaders and key industry figures.
