‘Edinburgh title will go to Charlotte’
PRINCESS Charlotte is to become the Duchess of Edinburgh, according to reports yesterday.
King Charles had been expected to make Prince Edward the Duke of Edinburgh. But instead he is saving the title for his granddaughter, seven, a newspaper claimed.
She is third in line to the throne, after her dad Prince William and brother George.
A source told the paper: “The favoured outcome for the King is that this title go to Princess Charlotte.
“It would be a fitting way to remember the Queen – who had the title Duchess of Edinburgh – and a way for His Majesty to honour the line of succession.”
