DOLPHINS DUMPED AT SEA

Four Black Sea bottlenose dolphins, which have spent the last decade in a tank, have been discarded in the sea after the owner of the facility said he could no longer afford to run it.

But earlier this month, the animals, who were born in the wild before being captured and taken to a dolphinarium in Sevastopol, Crimea, were released after the owner said he couldn’t afford the bills due to a drop in visitor numbers.

Footage shows the dolphins struggling for their lives on the beach as they are released. Anti-captivity campaigner, Rob Lott, from Whale and Dolphin Conservation, said the animals will have forgotten how to hunt as they have been fed by humans for 10 years. There is now a plan to capture them and bring them to another dolphinarium in Crimea.
