999 threats hoaxer jailed

A THUG who made over 2,000 bogus 999 calls and threatened to kill ambulance staff has been jailed.

Paul Hennessy, 57, made around four calls a day to South East Coast Ambulance Service and police for 17 months.

Hennessy, of St Leonards, East Sussex, appeared at Lewes crown court and admitted making threatenin­g communicat­ions. He was jailed for a year.

Dave Monk, of SECAMB, said staff suffered “awful and timewastin­g abuse”.
