“I’ve had to say goodbye to both my little Yorkies, Fudge (left) and Jenson,” says Sam Maxwell in Carlyon Bay, Cornwall, who’s had an awful year with the death of her mum as well.

“They lived to a good age – Jenson was aged 16 when he died in May from seizures, and then little Fudge, who was 12, two weeks ago. They gave me so much joy and were really spoiled. I’m absolutely heartbroken.”
