‘WE HAVE GOT FAITH IN BALE AND RAMSEY’

- JAMES NURSEY

BEN DAVIES says Wales will put their faith in Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey to deliver one more big performance tomorrow.

The Spurs defender says no one has done more than Wales’ star duo to get them to their first World Cup in 64 years.

He is disappointed at the level of “emotional” criticism of the pair in the wake of Wales’ dismal showing against Iran.

It has left Rob Page’s men, who drew their opener with USA, propping up Group B with just a point ahead of taking on England.

They now need to win and hope Iran and USA draw, otherwise they will need to beat England by at least four goals to qualify from Group B.

It looks daunting but stalwart Davies has not given up hope and is pinning a lot of faith in record appearance holder Bale, who has 110 caps, and Ramsey (above), who has 77.

Davies said: “Gareth and Aaron have turned up for Wales over and over again. They have shown the quality they have and I don’t think we’d be here without them.

“We have to put our faith in them that they can do it for us one more time.

“To criticise them is unjust. It was a very emotional time, not just for us, but for everyone involved in Welsh football.

“After the game, it’s not easy to

theytare get that emotion and the words out straight away. But part of our team and we want to put a good performance in.”
