Woman faces drug charges following raid

A WOMAN arrested as part of a Paramilitary Crime Taskforce investigation of INLA criminality appeared in court yesterday charged with drugs offences yesterday.

The defendant, who was granted anonymity, is accused of possessing and possessing with intent to supply quantities of cocaine and cannabis and with possessing suspected heroin.

Defence solicitor Paddy Macdermott said “this young lady is being used by other more sinister elements whom the police are probably aware of ”.

Bail was granted and the case was adjourned until January 12.
