Ruler’s Time to shine?

THE King is in the running to be Time magazine’s Person of the Year – but is polling behind Vladimir Putin.

The accolade goes to the person or group judged to have had the greatest influence in 2022, for better or worse.

And voting on 60 options at time.com has His Majesty on 2%, while the Kremlin warmonger is on 3%. Ukraine’s President

Volodymyr Zelensky is currently on 24% – but the clear leader is the “Women protesters in Iran”, at 84%. Despite the poll, the winner will ultimately be selected by the magazine’s editors.

Last year’s winner was Elon Musk.

The King’s mother, Queen Elizabeth II, was Time’s Woman of the Year in 1952 – the year she acceded to the throne.
